The first Hublot watch represents an innovation in watchmaking because it combines a precious material, gold, with a rubber strap. The typical design of its bezel evokes that of a ship's porthole. In 2004, Jean-Claude Biver was named CEO of the brand. A man with a strong personality, he advances the initial concept of fusion of materials under the “The Art of Fusion” motto. Inspired by the design of the Hublot watch from 1980, the flagship Big Bang collection won the “Best Design” prize at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix and will soon be followed by the King Power collection and later by the Classic Fusion collection that features ultra-thin Unico movements. In 2006, the brand launched the Big Bang All Black, an innovative concept of an all-black watch. Hublot has also created the sensational “One Million $” watch entirely set with white or black diamonds—and with a price to match. 

An independent brand for almost 30 years, Hublot was bought in 2008 by LVMH.
