WATCHMAKING

SYLVAIN PINAUD

Now an independent watchmaker, Sylvain Pinaud discovered this craft, and became passionate about it, under the aegis of his father, also a watchmaker. After graduating from the Morteau School of Watchmaking, he gained solid experience in restoration workshops, both of private clients and of well-known firms, and specialised in complicated work and in prototyping.

In 2018, he opened his own workshop in Ste-Croix, where he launched his first creation: the single-pusher chronograph which earned him the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France (‘Best Artisan in France’). In 2022, after three years of creating and researching, he presented his new, three-hand model: Origine. With it, he would win the Horological Revelation Prize at the 2022 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix.

As an independent craftsman, he was able to express his own concept of fine watchmaking, and to infuse into his pieces the values which he cherished: craftsmanship, patience, rigour, and durability.
